Hot on the heels of Amazon's own-branded TV range, the streaming e-tailer's first Fire TV Soundbar is launching in the UK, after making its US debut.
Compact at just over 60cm in width, the Fire TV Soundbar is a two-channel solution with support for DTS Virtual:X and Dolby Audio. In addition to its duties as an external TV audio upgrade, it can also be connected to a host of Bluetooth devices, including smartphones and tablets.
The Fire TV Soundbar is Fire TV Ready, and will work with any existing Fire TV remote control; Fire TV customers can use their existing remote to control both their Fire TV experience and Fire TV Soundbar’s volume and power.
Integrators should note that the soundbar is not Alexa enabled and does not support Alexa Home Cinema. A separate Fire TV streaming media player or compatible smart TV is required. Connectivity comprises a single HDMI with eARC support, and a digital optical audio input. Power output is rated at 2 x 20W. The soundbar weighs just 1.8kg.
The Fire TV Soundbar is priced at £112, and launches July 29. The model is currently available for preorder, discounted to £99.99.
