Clarity Alliance is strengthening its support for independent Hi-Fi retailers through a new strategic partnership with the British Independent Retailers Association (Bira).

The agreement will see all Clarity retail members receive complimentary membership of Bira as part of their existing Clarity membership, with immediate effect. The move expands the range of business support available to independent audio retailers, giving them access to Bira's portfolio of services at no additional cost.

Through the partnership, Clarity members will benefit from legal, HR and health and safety advice, alongside business services, retail insights, sales training, networking opportunities and industry representation. Members will also gain access to a range of commercial discounts available through Bira's network of partners.

The initiative reflects Clarity's continued focus on supporting specialist independent retailers operating in an increasingly competitive marketplace, where businesses face rising operating costs and growing competition from larger retailers and online channels.

Elizabeth Gould, chairman of Clarity, said: "Our priority has always been to help our members build stronger, more successful businesses. Partnering with Bira allows us to add even greater value to Clarity membership by giving our members access to an outstanding range of additional business and financial benefits. We believe it will also prove an attractive proposition to Hi-Fi retailers who are not yet members of the hi-fi trade association."

Jeff Moody, chief commercial officer at Bira, added: "Independent Hi-Fi and home cinema retailers face exactly the same pressures as the rest of our membership, from rising costs to increased competition from larger chains and online marketplaces. This partnership means Clarity's members now have the backing and business support to help them compete on a level footing, and we are pleased to welcome them into the Bira community."

Clarity has established itself as a trade organisation focused on advocacy, collaboration and industry engagement. By joining forces with Bira, the Alliance is broadening the practical support available to members while reinforcing its commitment to helping specialist retailers build resilient, sustainable businesses.

Existing Clarity retail members will automatically receive access to their complimentary Bira membership, with further information on activating the additional benefits to be communicated directly.
