Cinema Luxe, the UK-based luxury cinema interior design and build studio, has launched into the Indian market, with Cinema Luxe India debuting at Smart Home Expo Mumbai.
Founded in 2018 by Darren Barker and Patrick Monahan, Cinema Luxe has established a strong reputation for delivering bespoke, design-led cinema interiors that seamlessly combine high-end aesthetics with acoustic and technical performance.
With over 25 years of experience across interior design and construction, the studio plans to bring its distinctly British approach to craftsmanship, detailing, and design development.
The announcement follows the opening of the new Cinema Luxe Lounge on the Fifth Floor of Harrods in Knightsbridge, a collaboration with The Faraday Club and award-winning smart home integrator IndigoZest, and a growing portfolio of internationally recognised projects and accolades from both the interior design industry and CEDIA.
Cinema Luxe India will operate on a B2B partnership model, working in partnership with residential technology integrators across the country.
The studio provides cinema interior design to RIBA-aligned standards, acoustic room design and construction detailing, material specification and bespoke finishes, as well as manufacture, final installation, and quality control.
Local integrators retain responsibility for AV system design, equipment supply and installation.
Operating from the UK, Cinema Luxe will continue to lead all design and key project elements, working in close coordination with local integrators and contractors in India.
“Our focus has always been on creating cinema environments where design and performance work hand in hand,” says Darren Barker, Design Director, Cinema Luxe. “India represents an exciting opportunity to collaborate with leading integrators and bring a more considered, design-led approach to these spaces, while maintaining the craftsmanship and detailing that define our work.”
Cinema Luxe India will initially focus on key metropolitan markets including Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Hyderabad.
Kyle Perera, Cinema Luxe India, adds: “There’s a clear opportunity in India to elevate the design of private cinema spaces. By working alongside integrators, Cinema Luxe introduces a proven international approach that enhances the design, quality, and delivery of these highly specialised environments.”
