Chord Electronic’s first network bridge, the 2yu digital interface for the 2go streamer/server, is now shipping. Designed for use with DACs, DAC-equipped AV devices and Chord Electronics’ own Hugo M Scaler, the bridge offers high-resolution streaming from both wired Ethernet and wireless sources (using 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or A2DP Bluetooth).
Combined with the 2go’s 2x 2 TB-rated SD card slots, the combo also serves as an audiophile-grade music server. The 2go’s SD storage capacity has been tested up to 4TB.
Also Roon Ready, the 2yu connects to 2go, adding digital optical and coaxial and BNC digital outputs, plus a USB-A output. Owners of Chord’s Hugo M Scaler can also upscale the output, before passing to a DAC.
The latest 2go firmware update (v. 1.5.0) introduces new radio-listening and SD card album playback features. The new firmware follows the release of the latest version of Gofigure, a set-up and configuration app companion.
The 2go/2yu combination can be controlled by UPnP control point apps for both Android and iOS devices. It’s also a fully DLNA-compliant (server/renderer). Gofigure adds additional set up convenience and management features.
Other features include gapless audio, DoP/Bit Perfect and AirPlay support. The 2yu retails for £449.
