CEDIA is offering UK smart home professionals the opportunity to attend a business training session hosted by industry veteran and CEDIA Fellow, Leslie Shiner. This hands-on workshop, entitled ‘Using Today’s Numbers to Build a Profitable Financial Future’ will take place at the Lutron Experience Centre in London, Tuesday October 17.
We’re promised ‘actionable insights and tools to make informed financial decisions.’
In a rapidly evolving financial landscape, understanding and effectively managing financial resources is a crucial business skill.
This training course is targeted at self-employed individuals looking to start a business, business owners with 1-10 employees and are looking for growth, and electrical contractor businesses that are looking to branch off into the smart home.
The workshop will invite participants to collaboratively build an operational, financial, and marketing plan for a fictitious company with a made-up budget. It will look at financial foundations, data-driven decision making, goal setting and strategy, and interactive case studies.
The aim will be to teach attendees the skills required to use elements of CEDIA’s Business Toolkit.
CEDIA says attendees should bring their laptop, financial statements, profit and loss for the current year, and a balance sheet (one of this information will be shared with other participants).
“We are very lucky to have Leslie on board to present this training course,” comments Matt Nimmons, Managing Director of CEDIA EMEA.
“Leslie regularly runs sessions at ISE, and they are always sellout courses that generate fantastic feedback from attendees. Her style of teaching makes a topic like accountancy understandable and easy to apply in the real world. I would encourage anyone who would benefit from financial advice to book onto this course.”
The session is priced at £149 for members and £299 for non-members. If you join CEDIA as an individual member before signing up to this course, your membership cost (£70) and the price of this training (£149), works out cheaper than paying the non-member rate.
There’s an early bird deadline of Tuesday October 10. To book onto the course, click here.
