BenQ has introduced the AK900ST and AK800ST, two new projectors designed to deliver a lifelike indoor‑golf experience, using AI‑driven image optimisation.
The AK900ST and AK800ST are built around BenQ AI Sim Sense, a new image‑enhancement system powered by an onboard APU. The technology analyses the entire simulation environment - from course content to ambient lighting and the impact screen - and adjusts colour, contrast and clarity in real time.
BenQ says this produces more natural course colours, more accurate terrain perception and sharper detail across the full image.
Claire Huang, Head of Large Display Business Unit and Cloud Innovation Centre at BenQ Corporation, said the launch marks “our first step in bringing AI into our projector portfolio,” adding that the company will continue to advance AI‑driven automation and adaptive display technologies.
The AK900ST and AK800ST arrive at a time when the global golf‑simulator market is expanding rapidly. As simulation shifts from practice tool to entertainment platform, visual realism has become a key differentiator. BenQ’s approach is to combine AI‑enhanced picture processing with automated setup features that reduce installation time for both commercial venues and home‑golf environments.
Both projectors feature Auto Screen Fit 2.0, which detects curved or flat impact screens and aligns the image automatically. Auto Focus provides motorised precision without manual tuning, while Ambient Visual Enhancer adapts image output to the room’s lighting conditions. The aim is to minimise setup complexity and allow users to move quickly from installation to gameplay.
Beyond golf, the projectors function as all‑in‑one entertainment displays. Scene Memory allows users to switch between golf simulation, films, gaming and sports with optimised presets. Dual‑source Picture‑in‑Picture enables golfers to watch YouTube tutorials alongside the simulation, giving beginners a way to mirror techniques in real time.
BenQ positions the AK900ST and AK800ST as adaptive projectors capable of delivering course‑realistic visuals while supporting wider entertainment needs. The combination of AI Sim Sense, automated setup and multi‑scenario presets is intended to create a more intuitive experience for both installers and end users.
