Audiolab has launched its new flagship 9000 Series, comprising the £1,999 9000A integrated stereo amplifier and £999 9000CDT CD transport.
The 9000A introduces a new look for the brand, with a trio of rotary controls and a 4.3inch colour screen, which can be set to display a VU meter in ‘analogue’ or ‘digital’ form, with real-time decibel levels for the left and right channels.
Connectivity includes a USB Type B and four digital inputs (two coaxial and two optical). There are also three stereo RCA analogue inputs and one stereo XLR for balanced connectivity. There’s also a MM phono input for a turntable.
Wireless connections can be made via Bluetooth, with aptX HD and LDAC support, as well as aptX Low Latency, regular aptX, AAC and SBC.
Beneath the lid is a ES9038PRO eight-channel DAC, accompanied by proprietary circuitry to make the most of the chip’s HyperStream II architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator technology.
Hi-res audio support covers PCM to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD to 22.5MHz (DSD512), as well as full decoding of MQA, with ‘three unfold’ decoding process performed internally. The 9000A is officially ‘Roon Tested’ too.
There’s also a 12v trigger for system control.
The companion 9000 Series CD transport, the 9000CDT, features the same design and finish as the 9000A, with a 4.3inch colour display and rotary function selector, plus a USB Type A input, enabling playback from USB storage devices. A 12V trigger is available for system integration.
Audiolab says a matching 9000N network audio streamer will follow in Q1 2023.
