Swedish audio specialist Audio Pro has introduced the Link2, a second generation music streamer for use with non-connected Hi-Fi equipment.
The compact box offers an instant upgrade to older HiFi set-ups and includes AirPlay 2 and GoogleCast support, plus native integration with Audio Pro’s own multiroom platform.
Connectivity comprises an analogue stereo input, and analogue and digital audio outputs, allowing other sources, including turntables, to be brought into the streaming environment. There’s also Ethernet and a USB port. The latter allows media playback from a stick or external hard drive. Wireless audio can be streamed over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
Jens Henriksen at Audio Pro said: "In a time when increasing focus is placed on extending the life of everything you buy with the aim of not burdening the environment more than necessary, Link2 really feels like the right product. With this truly smart solution, you can reuse your old stereo instead of throwing it away when you have invested in new speakers.”
On top of the Link2 are four presets, mimicking those found on Audio Pro’s speaker range. These can be used to give direct access to favourite radio stations or playlists. The Link 2 is out now, priced £270 (€300, $300).
