Audio Pro has unveiled the C20, a wireless active stereo speaker for music and TV listening. It can serve as a music hub for streaming and local audio sources, and thanks to the provision of HDMI ARC it’s also an attractive soundbar alternative.
The new model, which adopts the brand’s classic Scandi minimalist aesthetic, can stream high-res Bluetooth, supports Airplay 2, and Google Cast, and can work within the Audio Pro Multiroom ecosystem.
Utilising its HDMI ARC connection, it can also deliver TV sound when placed beneath a screen. While the speaker ships with a simple remote control, the ARC connection allows users to control volume using a TV remote.
The C20 also has a built-in MM phonostage, so can be partnered with a vinyl record player. Significantly, you can also re-stream music to other Audio Pro speakers, ideal if you want to play vinyl or TV audio around the house.
Two C20’s can be paired to create a wider soundstage, using the Audio Pro app, or Apple Airplay 2.
Inside CI had the opportunity to get hands-on with the new model at CES 2024. Listening to both vinyl and streamed music, the system excels with high frequency detail and has a profound bass output. Total power output is rated at 190W.
While relatively compact, the C20 still delivers an expansive soundstage. As a music system in its own right, it certainly impresses, but the provision of an HDMI input adds a welcome extra level of versatility.
The Audio Pro C20 is available in Soft Satin White, Stylish Grey or Classic Black. It lands in the UK in February, priced at £450 (€550, $550).
