Norwegian speaker specialist Arendal Sound has introduced a special edition of its flagship floorstander, to celebrate a decade in business. The 1528 Tower 8 Limited 10th Anniversary Edition has been conceived as both a technical showcase and collector’s piece, with production capped at just 25 numbered pairs worldwide.
Positioned firmly at the premium end of the home cinema and hi-fi sector, the 1528 Tower 8 Anniversary Edition retains the engineering foundation of the standard flagship model but arrives with a bespoke finish and enhanced detailing. Each unit is hand-finished in rosewood with 12 layers of piano lacquer, complemented by satin-black waveguide assembly, baffle treatment and base bars.
Each speaker is individually numbered and fitted with a chrome-plated stainless steel rear badge, laser-etched with signature and serial. A signed Certificate of Authenticity, from Chief Technical Officer Thomas Gunvaldsen, accompanies every pair.
The cabinet finish draws from Norway’s mid-century modernist design heritage, echoing the use of rosewood in iconic Scandinavian furniture. Due to natural grain variations, no two pairs are identical, giving each installation a unique aesthetic profile for clients seeking bespoke interior integration.
Upgraded Puck Pro isolation feet are included as standard for this edition, replacing the Puck Plus units normally supplied with the standard 1528 Tower 8. These enhanced feet are said to provide improved mechanical decoupling, supporting more controlled low-frequency performance in theatre or listening room environments.
Internally, the loudspeaker follows a 3-way configuration featuring a 28mm lithium-magnesium tweeter, 5in carbon-graphene midrange driver and four 8in aluminium bass drivers. These are mounted into an 85mm thick, time-aligned baffle designed to ensure coherent wave propagation and reduced crossover complexity, a detail of particular interest to professional calibrators and room-tuning specialists.
The baffle’s curvature and driver alignment reduce phase irregularities, improving imaging stability across larger listening areas, useful in wider cinema seating layouts. The system has been developed to maintain consistent tonality whether deployed in high-end two-channel listening rooms or dedicated multi-channel installations.
The Arendal Sound 1528 Tower 8 Limited 10th Anniversary Edition is priced at £10,000 ($12,900 / €11,900) per pair. Ordering is exclusively via the manufacturer’s website.
