Smart home solution brand Aqara has introduced the E1 smart radiator thermostat. Compatible with Apple HomeKit, Alexa, Google, IFTTT, and Matter, when connected to the Aqara M2 Hub or Camera Hub G3, the Aqara E1 utilises Zigbee 3.0 and features a high contrast display.
With support for geofencing, integrators can set schedules with different temperature settings for day and night, and when used in conjunction with the Camera Hub G3’s local face recognition, the room temperature may be adjusted automatically based on personal preferences.
An optional Temperature and Humidity Sensor allows multiple radiators in one room to be synchronised in the most efficient way, based on the actual temperature of the room. It can also be controlled remotely.
By setting a low temperature protection, such as 5°C, the thermostat is able to guard the pipes from freezing and bursting in the winter months, even when users are away from home.
Batteries can last up to one year, says the manufacturer. It is supplied with adapters that make it compatible with the majority of the radiator valves. Installation is said to take just a few minutes, and does not require additional tools.
The Thermostat E1 also supports automatic door and window opening detection and will turn off the heating to save energy in case of such events.
The Aqara Radiator Thermostat E1 retails for £54.98, or £108.99 as a twin pack.
