Denon aims to redefine the high end of the integrated AV amplifier market with the launch of the top of the line AVC-A1H and AVC-X4800H.
Engineered and constructed at Denon facilities in Japan, the reference grade AVC-A1H (pictured above) is the latest in a line of venerable A1 products, following on from the AVP-A1 (in 1996) or the AVC-A1HD (launched in 2007).
The Denon AVC-A1H sports a huge 11.5kg power transformer and dual main capacitors of 33.000µF, able to deliver 15 channels of amplification, for a 9.4.6 Dolby Atmos speaker configuration, at 210 Watts per channel.
The stablemate Denon AVC-X4800H is a 9-channel amplifier, offering 200-watts per channel via high-current monolithic amplifiers. Inside CI had an early hands-on with the models late last year, but we've yet to hear them in action. Suffice to say, we can't wait.
Room correction software Audyssey MultEQ XT32 is built-in into both models, and there’s the option of Dirac Live calibration. Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Auro 3D support is standard, and both models are certified IMAX Enhanced. HEOS multiroom streaming is built-in.
Now available in the UK and across Europe, the Denon AVC-A1H and Denon AVC-X4800H are priced at £5,999 / €6,999 and £2199 / A €2599 respectively.
