The latest flagship Mark Levinson monoblock power amp, dubbed No. 536, is now available in the UK, through high-end Hi-Fi and home cinema specialist Karma-AV.
With its striking black and silver industrial design, the monaural amplifier appears as formidable as its specification. Delivering 400W into 8 ohms, and 800W into 4 ohms, it’s designed to drive demanding speaker loads into larger rooms. Beneath the hood, the amplifier blends class AB amplifier topology with Class A voltage gain and driver stages. No integrated circuits are used in the signal path.
Connections include XLR balanced and phono unbalanced inputs, with two pairs of heavy-duty speaker binding posts fitted with Mark Levinson’s unique hurricane wings which secure speaker cables without tools.
When it comes to control, the 536 provides Ethernet, RS-232 and 12V trigger inputs. There’s also USB-A and Mini USB. The amplifier measures 19.7 x 45.1cm x 50.8cm (H/W/D) and weighs a substantial 45.4kg
The Mark Levinson No 536 retails for £14,000. For more news from Karma-AV, visit our partner page here.
