Multiroom solution Sooloos and high-performance ceiling/in-wall speakers will provide the focus for Meridian Audio at CEDIA Expo next week.

The iconic UK brand will also introduce its new Design and Specification Service at the Dallas Convention Center. This complimentary service for Meridian dealers can provide customised AV system designs, including two channel, multichannel and multiroom system designs for the home or marine environment. All nclude a variety of performance options, full quotations and associated pricing options. The idea, says the company, is to “foster synergy between Meridian and its dealer, by providing enhanced audio/video sales tools, allowing the dealer to focus on other aspects of the installation.”

Meridian has made a number of changes to Sooloos, resulting in what it describes as “its most flexible, highest performance, and cost effective offering to-date.” Performance and hardware enhancements include core support for 24-bit ALAC, DSD, DXD and the Meridian designed MQA audio codec. The system also offers a TIDAL streaming content option. For greater installation and storage flexibility, the system also supports third-party NAS devices. New control options include redesigned iOS applications and TouchPC, bringing touchscreen performance to any PC. Visitors will also see the system intergrated with popular control systems Crestron and Control4.

The DSP320 ceiling/In-wall Loudspeaker, recently selected as a Finalist in CEDIA's Best New Product category, is the latest addition to the brand’s loudspeaker range. Just 100mm deep, it’s engineered for wide dispersion over the maximum listening area, with its baffle and grille design reducing unwanted diffraction. Onboard Digital Signal Processing technology means that the image height can be lowered, creating a wide stereo image – not a trick easily achieved with conventional speakers designed to create a single 'sweet spot'.

And as the speaker is active, there’s no need for amplification in the equipment rack, a useful saving when it comes to space and heat management. “The DSP320 offers incredible performance, simplicity of installation, and improved reliability to the installer,” says Meridian.

Meridian co-founder, Bob Stuart, will also be honoured at the Expo with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
