Meridian Audio has been celebrating. The British Hi-Fi company has been awarded Best New Hardware at the 2017 CEDIA Awards for its 218 Zone Controller. The award continues an impressive year for Meridian’s 200 series of audio products, as it continues to pioneer Hi-Res Audio and music streaming solutions.
“We are over the moon,” says Meridian’s CEO John Buchanan. “We constantly strive to create products that are innovative and relevant for our dealers and customers, and winning this award has really inspired us with our ongoing commitment to the industry.”

All entries for the category went through a shortlisting stage, and then a face-to-face presentation with the judging panel. The 218 Zone Controller uses Meridian High Resolution up-sampling technology to improve audio output from a range of AV technology in both media room and whole home applications. With Meridian Speakerlink, optical, and analogue inputs, and digital and analogue outputs, its versatility ensures it can be used in any number of system configurations.
The accolade follows a run of industry awards., including CEDIA Best of Show Awards for the 271 Digital Theatre Controller and 251 Powered Zone Controller, the latter also winning the CE Pro BEST Award.
