Broadening the appeal of its various music streaming solutions, Meridian Audio has announced a compatibility partnership with popular NAS supplier QNAP. From August 5, selected products from the QNAP range can be used within a Meridian ecosystem to store music collections, bringing the benefits of affordable system expansion, automatic backup and RAID protection. The deal should greatly improves the versatility and affordability of the Meridian's streaming technology for custom installers. The Cambridge hi-fi company is also offering a plugin for dBpoweramp's popular music converter and CD ripper software.
Meridian currently offers a variety of scalable streaming music and Internet radio systems, for local and multi-room systems. Components comprise the rack-mountable Media Core 600 twin-hard drive and digital controller, Media Core 200 server, tabletop Media Drive 600 storage solution, and Media Source 600 and 200 zone players. Systems can be partnered with a range of high-end digital active speakers. Control is via the Core Control app for iOS, or Meridian's own Control 15 17-inch touch panel (pictured above).
As part of a consumer drive to encourage take-up, the brand is
currently running a media player upgrade promotion, through
participating Meridian UK dealers.
