Loewe has introduced two new large screen sizes to its Reference flatscreen Ultra HD line. The Reference 75 and Reference 85 add 75- and 85-inch options respectively, joining the existing 55-in Reference model. The high-end German engineered 4K screens also sport integrated 120w soundbar style audio system. Developed in partnership with SOEN, this sound system incorporates multiple forward-firing speakers. Dolby/DTS audio decoding is standard. The soundbar can also act as the centre speaker in a 5.1 multichannel system.
The sets utilise HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.2 and HEVC decoding support, and are active-shutter 3D enabled. Control and connectivity options include wireless networking, Bluetooth and RS232.
All Reference screens feature an anti-reflective, high-contrast glass filter panel. The sets also have onboard PVRs with a built-in 1TB hard drive. As well as recording and archiving programmes, this DR+ HDD also acts as a video server that can be accessed by other Loewe sets in a home network, using DR+ Streaming. Viewers can alo pause a programme and pick up where they left off on another DR+-equipped TV in a different room, so-called DR+ Follow Me.
Build quality and cosmetics are high. Four frame finishes are available: Aluminium Black, Aluminium Silver, High-Gloss White and Dark Gold. Integrators also have a motorised floor stand option.
The Reference 85 retails for £15,000 for the Black or Aluminium Silver frame options. High-Gloss White and Dark Gold come with a £1,000 and £2,000 premium respectively. The Reference 75 sells for £9,000 for Aluminium Black or Aluminium Silver, with White and Gold having a premium of £1,000 and £2,000 respectively.
