ISE 2013 to hold first Smart Building Conference

Reflecting growing interest from exhibitors and visitors, Integrated Systems Europe will host its first Smart Building Conference in 2013. The event joins ISE's pre-show roster and will be held at the Amsterdam RAI on Monday, 28 January. The move is part of a bold initiative to make AV and electronic systems integration a cornerstone of Europe's construction industry, revealed at a European press briefing held in Amerstdam this week

Mike Blackman, ISE managing director, said the message came through loud and clear in 2012's post show questionnaire. "Our attendees want to see more building automation, energy management and related technologies on our show floor and these are the areas where they see the greatest future growth potential for their businesses."

Blackman added that the introduction of a conference will immediately make ISE more relevant to those industries going forward. "Our attendees have the market intelligence and technical expertise they need to embrace this opportunity," he said.

The Conference will be managed in-house by ISE's new Conference & Event Manager, Marieke Bouman (pictured above).

Blackman was quick to dispel any notion that the Smart Building Conference will become a talking shop about "green AV." It's vital that to hear the voices of all those involved, including architects, design consultants, developers, electrical contractors and more, he declared.

Hall 7 of the Amsterdam RAI show floor will have its own 'Smart Building @ ISE' area in. Twice the size of the 2012 Energy Management Pavilion, the area will share common branding and promotion with the pre-show event. It's a strategy previously used to establish digital signage and communications at ISE.
