GoldenEar Technology has introduced a new floorstanding speaker, the Triton Seven, alongside the SuperSat 60/60C (pictured above), a more powerful version of its popular SuperSat 50/50C on-wall TV sound package.
Distinguished by a unique cabinet shape with a rearward rake and piano-gloss black base, the Triton Seven is the first Triton Tower model not to feature a built-in active subwoofer, and features non-parallel front and rear baffles to offer better control of internal standing waves. A D'Appolito array of bass midrange drivers surround the same High Velocity Folded Ribbon Driver (HVFR) used in both the Triton Two and Three. They join two 5.25-inchbass/midrange drivers, developed at GoldenEar's Canadian engineering facility, which feature a specially formulated polypropylene cone material and unique apical glue bonding technique for enhanced midrange clarity. Completing the specification are two side-mounted sub-bass radiators. The brand says the Seven is ideal for for both two-channel and multi-channel applications.
The SuperSat 60 and 60C speakers have been designed to partner 60-inch and larger flat panels. The sculpted cabinet is made from aerospace-grade aluminum and is finished in piano-gloss black. Each speaker contains four proprietary 4.5-inch cast bass/midrange drivers and two low frequency radiators. Wall-mounting is accomplished using the threaded inserts or keyhole mounts on the rear. There are also optional floor and tabletop stands available for vertical mounting.
Distribution is via Karma-AV. The SuperSat 60/60C models are expected to ship March/April time, with a retail price of £700 each. The Triton Seven is due mid-summer, priced at £1,400 a pair.
