Genelec to bow 'paradigm shifting' speaker at ISE, along with Immersive 3D Audio Experience

Genelec will debut a new monitor speaker at ISE as part of an immersive 3D-audio initiative. The compact 8351, hailed as ‘bold step forward in active monitoring’ will be unveiled alongside a dedicated 3D audio listening room.

The 8351 is a coaxial three-way Smart Active Monitor system, developed in response to the need for high performance audio in acoustically challenging environments. The model represents a number of breakthroughs in electro-acoustic engineering, with every sub-system in the 8351, including electronics, amplifier circuitry, drivers and mechanical assembly, designed by the brand’s own research and development team.

“It has been said that the 8351 is a paradigm shifting product,” says Lars Olof-Janflod, Marketing Director at Genelec. “This is high praise and while it may be immodest of me, I would have to agree. I’d urge anyone interested in the future of audio to visit our stand, not only to hear the 8351 in action, but to also experience 3D audio as the content creators intended – through Genelec loudspeakers.”

Genelec cites 3D sound formats, such as Dolby Atmos and Auro-3D, as an emerging trend for installation projects such as screening rooms and home cinemas, As part of its Immersive Sound Experience feature, it  will feature a 3D system complete with 4000 Series loudspeakers, specifically designed for the installation market, "to demonstrate the potential that these sound formats bring."
