Memphis-based Beale Street Audio has partnered with Karma-AV to distribute its architectural speakers and installation amplifiers in the UK. The deal offers UK custom integrators access to a quartet of multiroom amplifiers plus Beale Street’s range of 6.5-inch and 8-inch in-ceiling speakers, new L/C/R and Dual Voice Coil models, in-ceiling subwoofers, shallow-mounting in-wall/ceiling speakers and 70-100V in-ceiling designs.
The speakers boast Beale Street Audio’s patented Sonic Vortex Technology, which reworks the traditional ported enclosed speaker design to deliver “more bass and a flatter frequency response.” This is achieved by separating the main port of the enclosure into multiple fins that compress and move air at a high rate of speed without port noise. The company says its design provides a 6- to 9dB boost in the mid-lower bass range.
Commenting on the partnership, Karma’s Ian Severs says: “The genuinely innovative but affordable Beale Street line is a perfect partner for our high-end Revel architectural speakers and allows us to offer a technically advanced solution for every budget.”
Beale Street Audio’s Mark Cichowski adds: “Karma-AV’s appointment will help us to spread the word about our unique technology in an important market. They’re sure to find many new customers for Beale Street Audio’s great sounding products.”
