AWE has signed an exclusive deal with Denon to distribute the HEOS wireless multiroom system into the custom install channel. Stuart Tickle told Inside CI that the news is highly significant for installers, as the HEOS roll-out will be supported by drivers for multiroom control systems, including AWE’s own URC products. A full package of technical support and training services will be offered, positioning the Denon system as the main CI alternative to SONOS.
“We have been the solus distributor for Denon for a decade and have developed a strong and successful relationship” says Tickle. “HEOS is a game changer for the industry, as it's the first multiroom audio product from a major global audio brand.” The distributor says that it will headline its AWE Expo, which runs November 18-20, with the product line.
The HEOS system comprises three active speakers, HEOS 3, HEOS 5 (pictured above) and HEOS 7, plus the HEOS Link which integrates existing audio components into the HEOS ecosystem, plus the HEOS amp which can be coupled to any existing stereo speakers. It works both wired and wireless, supporting dual-band 5GHz 802.11n for additional stability. An optional HEOS Extender wireless bridge is also available to extend the wireless network where required.
The smaller HEOS 3 features a two channel digital amplifier and can be positioned either horizontally or vertically, or wall mounted using an optional bracket. HEOS 5 features two tweeters, a pair of mid bass drivers and passive radiator. The range-topping HEOS 7 sports dual mid-woofers, two tweeters, twin passive radiators and an active subwoofer. Set up and control is completed via the dedicated HEOS app, allowing installers to complete the designation of zones quickly and easily. Supported streaming services include Spotify, Deezer, Napster and Tuneln.
UK MD at D+M Audiovisual Jason Dear comments: “Having worked closely with AWE for many years with our core Denon and Marantz product portfolios, we believe that AWE are best placed to deliver the benefits of HEOS to this key channel and look forward to our continued partnership with AWE in order to grow the HEOS brand.”
