Vestel Visual Solutions has refreshed its PR series of commercial 4k IPS UHD displays with the new PR+ range, which promise class-leading brightness in the price category, as well as 24/7 operation ability without screen burn.

Typical applications include retail and corporate installations, as well as control rooms and transportation.

Utilising an Android 9-powered system-on-chip (SoC) core, the line-up covers 43-, 50-, 55- and 65-inch screen sizes, all boasting 700 nit (cd/m2) brightness on full gain. Pixel Shifting is used to reduce the potential risk of image sticking when static content is displayed over long periods of time.

The IPS panels benefit from a wide viewing angle of 178 degrees vertical and horizontal, and a dynamic contrast ratio of 70000:1.
Connectivity includes four HDMI, a quartet of USB ports (with security lock cover), Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1. There’s also support for Miracast wireless display.

The PR+ boasts cosmetic improvements over the outgoing PR-series, with an ultra-narrow bezel design and slimmer case. Features like the OPS-slot, detachable power lead, detachable badge, IR extender and carry handles continue.

'Practical installation features include 30-degree tilting installation, portrait or landscape modes, embedded IR and IR extender option,  and the ability to daisy-chain content across multiple displays.'

The PR+ series feature a quad-core ARM Cortex-A55 SoC CPU running the open-source Android 9 OS. Designed for both cloud-based managed content and offline content via USB, HDMI, OPS module or network-connected devices, the RS232 / LAN control has command list and HDMI CEC control functionality. In the event of a signal failure, the display will show the client’s banner, logo or other customisable content, while an alternate signal input source is sought.

Practical installation features include 30-degree tilting installation, portrait or landscape modes, embedded IR and IR extender option, OPS-slot, and the ability to daisy-chain content across multiple displays.

Tim Matthews, Senior Product Manager B2B, says that Vestel’s position as Europe’s largest display manufacturer ensures high value when it comes to the high brightness commercial UHD signage.

“The familiar, customisable Vestel user interface dramatically simplifies set-up, and the open platform support allows integrators and CMS content providers the most flexible architecture for their customer requirements. With our economies of scale as Europe’s largest display manufacturer, we believe the new PR+ series offers unrivalled value in high bright commercial UHD signage.”

The new Vestel PR+ models will be available in the UK from July via Vestel Visual Solutions distributors and resellers.
