Integrated Systems Europe has announced a new addition to its educational and networking events programme, co-located with ISE 2013. The new MegaPixel Summit will look at the implications and technology behind display solutions that exceed Full HD, and will be produced in partnership with market research outfit Insight Media.

"Over the past couple of years, we've seen a substantial increase in the number of ISE exhibitors offering display solutions that are above full HD resolution," says ISE MD Mike Blackman. "The potential of these technologies is enormous, but these are complex systems and many industry professionals are enduring a steep learning-curve while implementing them. By hosting the MegaPixel Summit at ISE 2013, we hope to create a forum in which the challenges arising from creating large-scale, multiple-component displays are addressed by a mix of different stakeholders: manufacturers, distributors, integrators, rental companies and end customers."

Insight Media president Chris Chinnock says the summit will focus on the three elements of the 'Pixel Pipeline' ecosystem "that defines a typical MegaPixel solution: Pixel Generation, Pixel Processing and Pixel Display." This will include the CPUs and GPUs used to create images, the software and hardware required to process and distribute them, and then the various display technologies that can be used to show them.

ISE says that the MegaPixel Summit will divide into three sessions. The first two on Monday 28 January will focus on technology, products and trends, the third third, taking place on the morning of Tuesday 29 January (the first day of the actual show) will offer case-study examples of MegaPixel system integration. Individual sessions are priced at  200 euros, two will cost 350 euro, while all three can be had for 450 euro. Presenting will be Scalable Display Technologies, Christie Digital, Planar and Eyevis.

Mike Blackman adds: "The MegaPixel Summit will be our first opportunity to work with Insight Media and, given their track record of producing industry-leading events at InfoComm (the Projection Summit for 12 years and 3D Comm for two years), we are confident they will produce a must-attend conference for ISE 2013."
