Wyrestorm and Control 4 recently partnered with NAD and Armour home's in-wall and in-ceiling speakers, to contribute a home entertainment and control system for the Channel 4 series, Home of the Future. The show, co-funded by energy company E.ON, set out to reveal how cutting-edge technology could transform the lives of an everyday family, by filling their home with futuristic gizmos and gadgets.

With a little help from resident expert Chris Sanderson, the lucky family got to experience the benefits of custom install technology first hand, from entertainment to utilities.

Looking back, Ashley Hutchinson, Armour's channel director responsible for custom installation products believes the project provided the CI industry with a unique platform to promote its services. He says the programme managed to strike "the perfect balance of being entertaining and informative," adding "it made viewers think about the future; Without doubt, this has helped raise awareness of CI products on behalf of our whole industry."

If you missed the original broadcasts, Home of the Future can be viewed online at 4OD. The show also has its own website, click here to view. Now what do we have to do to get a regular CI-based home technology show on the air? Naturally, any commissioning editors are welcome to get in touch with Inside CI.
