Wyrestorm has given UK dealers an exclusive sneak preview of several new products, including a 'Build your own matrix' proposition and its consumer-facing Wyrestorm Express line, at this week's Invision UK Home Technology Showcase event.
Speaking about the introduction of its Express consumer brand to Inside CI, Wyrestorm General Manager Adrian Ickeringill (pictured above) said: "What we're looking to do is expand on the pedigree of our professional range and introduce up to ten entry level HDMI switching devices and products this year. In addition to cables, we've got 3-to-1 and 5-to-1 switches, which are ideal for customers who have wall mounted a screen with a single HDMI cable, but need to connect more devices." The line is expected to launch in July. Going forward the brand is looking to add DACs, analogue-to-digital converts, in-line repeaters and 4x2 HDMI products. "We're confident that we'll open up some new distribution channels with these products, they're ideal for specialist AV retailers who have not got into higher level matrix sales. A lot of companies are offering similar things, but they're not putting them into a one brand offering like we are with Wyrestorm Express."
Wyrestorm also unveiled new 4K compatible HDBaseT extenders, POE matrices and an online matrix configurator. "We are going to release a customised version of our Pro Plus 8x8 chassis which the installer can specify TX cards for via an online configurator. The matrix then comes fully loaded to the field. This 'Build your own matrix' solution embraces not only digital sources, but analogue and video as well." Ickeringill says the option is particularly useful when it comes to integrating Sonos. "We've seen the multiroom audio market taken by Sonos, and love it or loathe it we've got to be able to integrate that. So we have a card that allows you to take the Sonos signal and integrate it into HDBaseT." Other transmission cards will include VGA to HDBaseT and DVI to HDBaseT. "We've also got the ability to cascade HDMI devices, as well as offering PoE and routable RS232." The configural 8x8 Pro Plus matrix will receive its official launch in June at Infocomm. Also scheduled for a June launch is Wyrestorm's eagerly awaited HDBaseT amplifier. First seen at ISE 2013, the AMP-001-010 is basically an HDBaseT 70m receiver with a built in 25W per channel Class D amplifier.
The Invision UK Home Technology Showcase runs until May 15th at Epsom Downs racecourse.
