Smart home  Security  Trade show

Smart home technology looks to become all pervasive, with the news that major security trade show IFSEC International will introduce a new Smart Zone exhibition and feature area at its 2016 show. The event  takes place at London’s ExCeL June 21-23. The move reflects the growing integrations of security systems and services as part of building automation.

The IFSEC Smart Zone will focus on two key areas, commercial and residential. #ifsecsmarthome will concentrate on the home automation sector, providing installers, integrators, housebuilders and architects with an opportunity to explore new home automation technologies from the likes of LILIN, Texecom, Y3K, Paxton Access and Yale. It will be supported by a showhouse at the centre of the exhibition area where visitors can meet and discuss system capabilities. It’s here that exhibitors will showcase products and solutions. A second zone, #ifsecsmartbuildings will look at how a fully connected building provides cost and efficiency benefits to building managers. There will be an interactive display showcasing a range of integrated building management solutions.

In addition, a Smart Zone Theatre will offer seminars focused on home automation and smart buildings. The programme will be delivered by a range of leading experts and will concentrate on key areas such as the Internet Of Things, systems integration, business intelligence, building information management and cyber security.

Gerry Dunphy, Event Director for IFSEC,  describes the Smart Zone an “important part of the show’s continuing evolution - and will present integrators, consultants, architects, facilities directors, civic authorities and building owners with key solutions to make their assets more sustainable, productive and cost effective.’’

LILIN Group Vice President LILIN Jason Hill says it’s a logical development for IFSEC to move in. “The integrated home is very much a reality today and represents a tremendous opportunity for progressive installers and integrators.” He adds as LILIN is developer of IP Video solutions for the home automation and custom integration markets and the company is “well placed to centrally support IFSEC with this new feature.”
