The Smart Building Conference, organised by Integrated Systems Europe, has announced four events across Europe, as Smart home tech gains momentum. The conference, a joint venture between InfoComm International and CEDIA, will be held this autumn in London, Berlin and Milan before arriving in Amsterdam for ISE 2015. The events will cover both residential and commercial building applications, with optional full-day workshops

ISE MD Mike Blackman says the time is right to expand across Europe: "Our strategy will be for our three events this autumn to have local content tailored to each country's regional market, while next year's Amsterdam SBC will serve as the brand's international meeting point." The London event takes place October 7 at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, with Berlin scheduled for November 6 and Milan November 18. Content for all four events will be managed by ISE Conference Manager Agata Pawlik, supported by ISE's International Sales Manager Elisabeth Kondakow, who will look after sponsorship.

In related news, consumer interest in Smart home tech is being driven by the increasing ubiquity of smart devices. According to research released by Futuresource, ownership of connected devices continues to soar. 70 per cent of those polled in Europe and the USA, own a smartphone, up from 64 per cent in 2013, with 34 per cent of consumers now owning a connected TV, up from 23 per cent in 2013. Tablet ownership has risen from 36 per cent to 45 per cent.
