RTI has introduced the KX-2 in-wall system controller. Combining programmable hard buttons and touchpanel, the new RTI addition is exclusively available through CI distributor Invision UK. The LCD touchscreen measure a discrete 71mm diagonally (2.8-inches) and has a white bezel with glossy buttons, allowing it to blend into any environment. The panel displays text and custom buttons at QVGA resolution (240 x 320 w/h). A proximity sensor automatically brings the unit to life when someone is detected nearby.
The KX-2's infrared output port provides direct control of almost any AV component or lighting system, up to 300m over Cat5e. The controller's 12 hard buttons and graphic interface are fully programmable using RTI's Integration Designer software. An integrated 10/100Base-T Ethernet port with Power-over-Ethernet provides the flexibility to accommodate any installation requirements. The KX2 panel can be used as a stand-alone device or as part of an expandable central control system. When used with available RTI accessory devices, it's capable of infrared routing, relay control, power sensing and two-way communications via Ethernet and RS-232.
"At Invision, we're proud to supply RTI products, so it's fantastic that we can now offer our customers the KX-2," comments sales specialist David Meyerowitz. "End-users are going to love it because it looks beautiful and it's exceptionally powerful, and integrators will love it because it's such a cinch to install."
