Onkyo is launching a cut-price Dolby Atmos receiver. The 7.2 channel TX-NR545 claims a power output of 120 W/Ch and offers a useful slate of functionality, including integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth support and AirPlay compatibility. The receiver, from the newly established Onkyo & Pioneer Corporation, features six 4K/60 fps compatible HDMI 2.0 inputs, with HDCP 2.2 compliance for source components. Onkyo’s own AccuEQ room acoustic correction is onboard to simplify speaker set-up.
The AV receiver offers native support for DSD 5.6 MHz and 192kHz 24-bit Hi-Res Audio via DLNA. It’s also Spotify Connect compliant, enabling easy streaming from a compatible mobile device. Beneath the lid there's a 384 kHz/32-bit AK4458 DAC from Asahi-Kasei. Available in black or silver, the TX-NR545 will retail for £449, from May. Distribution is via Invision UK.
