NuVo a better bet for streaming audio say Habitech

ISE  Network audio  Habitech

NuVo is planning a big push for its distributed audio Player Portfolio at ISE 2013, says distributor Habitech. The system is being positioned as a CI friendly alternative to mass market wireless audio systems with much the same feature set but offers easier, centralised integration.

Topping the line is the P3100 network music player. For those who haven't seen it yet, it's a full-width 1U box just 54mm high, it features built-in access to internet radio, offers streaming access from networked music collections and has hardwired speaker outputs to take advantage of existing cable infrastructure. It's designed to partner NuVo's P100 (offering 2x20w amplification) and Bluetooth-enabled P200 (2x60w, with Audyssey Multi EQ room equalistion) Wi-Fi players.

Rated power output is 2x20w per zone, up to three zones; additional zones can added through more P3100s daisy-chained together. Audyssey Dynamic Volume control is onboard to manage loudness levels across all zones. Helpfully, the P3100 can connect directly to an external USB drive (rather than a NAS), as well as portable music players via an audio line-in. File support covers MP3, WMA, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC and WAV. Playback can be managed through the brand's CR100 touchscreen controller or via the NuVo app for iOS and Android.

Habitech will begin offering the NuVo P3100 and related kit at the end of January. NuVo can be found on stand 5-R86 at ISE. Integrated Systems Europe will be held at the Amsterdam RAI, January 29-31. For more on Habitech and its brands, visit our partner page here.

Looked at this last year at ISE looks a good product and has more margin than Sonos, but then again everything in the world does.
