Architectural speaker specialist Niles has launched the world's first in-wall soundbar. The new Cynema Soundfield system features a unique in-wall mounting system that allows L/C/R channels be perfectly aligned under flat-panel displays, with minimal installation hassle.

Distributed exclusively by Invision UK, the modular 48-inch CSF48P passive system comprises adjustable left, right, and centre self-contained speaker modules. "Integrators are always looking for more efficient ways of installing tech, and Niles has come up with a winner," enthuses Invision UK's Chris Dawson. "With the Cynema Soundfield, it's easy to position your speakers in exactly the right location to provide top-quality sound with minimal fuss." Mitch Witten, audio segment director from Niles parent Core Brands adds: "Niles has never offered a soundbar before, and the market has certainly never seen one quite like this." In the States, Niles has also produced an Active version of the Cynema Soundfield, available in three sizes: the 48-inch CSF48A, the 55-inch CSF55A and the 65-inch CSF65A.

Installers should note that the Cynema Soundfield speaker modules actually snap into place  from the front, onto rails mounted on the wall's studs, and can be adjusted between the studs as needed to achieve the best sonic imaging. Wiring is run through specially designed spaces in the mounting system to eliminate the need to drill extra holes. Spacers are provided to cover any empty areas between modules for a clean installation. A low-profile, magnetically attached and paintable MicroPerf grille finishes off the job.

The Cynema Soundfield passive package contains three speaker modules, one in-wall mounting system with grille, and one cut-out template for the in-wall mounting system.
