Yamaha has released details on its new RX-V83 Series AV receivers. The models, which are MusicCast and 4K compatible, cover both 5.1 and 3D audio 7.2 designs, and comprise the RX-V383, RX-V483, RX-V583 and RX-V683. All launch May/June.

Dolby Atmos and DTS:X are supported on the RX-V583 and RX-V683 with the entry-level RXV383 and RX-V483 supporting Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio.

The RX-V483 (pictured below), 583 and 683 support Yamaha’s multiroom audio system MusicCast, as well as Bluetooth.

Every receiver includes YPAO (Yamaha Parametric Acoustic Optimizer) technology for auto calibration of speakers using a parametric equalizer, while the RX-V683 features the upgraded YPAO-RSC (Reflected Sound Control). This upgraded version of YPAO accounts for reflective or awkward surfaces and furniture in the listening room.

The RX-V683 features an MM phono stage inside, which when used with MusicCast allows vinyl to be multiroomed across connected speakers. Currently Yamaha offers nearly 50 MusicCast-enabled products, including soundbars, AVRs, speakers, soundbases, micro systems, Hi-Fi components and active speakers.

Hi-Res audio streaming supports 192 kHz / 24 bit FLAC and AIFF, 96/24 ALAC, WAV, with the RX-V683  adding DSD 2.8 MHz / 5.6 MHz playback.

All the new models are Dolby Vision and 4K Ultra-HD compliant says Yamaha. The RX-V383, RX-V483 and RX-V583 (pictured above) have four compatible inputs, with the RX-V683 offering six.
