Projector and presentation outfit Vivitek has added four new multimedia projectors to its D5 product range: the SVGA D516 (pictured above) and D517, plus the XGA D518 and D519 models. High brightness, long lamp life (6,000 hours in economy mode) and portability are key attributes to all, and they're 3D-ready too.
All four are single chip DLP models, rated at 3,000 ANSI lumens, and boast a contrast of 15000:1. Connectivity is something of a mixed bag. Only the D518 and D519 models offer an HDMI inputs, while VGA, S-Video, composite video and RS-232c ports are common. Reflecting their pro-AV roots, the models feature a modest 2w sound system. The projectors weight just 1.9kg.
Vivitek suggests all models are equally well suited for both business and home-entertainment use. Six preset display modes make set-up quick and painless. Holger Graeff, General Manager EMEA at Vivitek, describes the new entries as "the perfect companion for those who need a mobile digital projector to display brilliant presentation or to enjoy the latest 3D games and movies at home." All four are compatible with TI's DLP-Link 3D system.
