Vivitek has launched a highly versatile Full HD short throw projector. The D7180HD needs zero projection distance, making it an ideal solution for both residential and commercial applications where space is at a premium but a large display is required. Rated at 3,400 lumens it can throw images up to 80 inches across.
The D7180HD uses DLP BrilliantColor technology and has a six-segment colour wheel. The provision of an RJ45 port also means it can be wired into IT networks; other connections include HDMI, PC VGA, DVI-D and USB. It also offers easy to-loading lamp replacement. Lamp life is rated at 4,000 hours.
Holger Graeff, Vivitek's general manager EMEA, believes the unit will have wide appeal: "It combines innovative technologies and provides a nice alternative choice to plasma. Enterprises, who want the zero-distance advantages of an ultra short-throw projector, now have the added benefit that this Vivitek model uniquely offers crisp HD resolution."
