Italian marine technology specialist Videoworks has introduced a new architecture for integration of AV and IT systems, which it says optimises the use of space on board yachts.
Its Key Core Solution removes the need to have multiple AV and IT hubs dotted around a yacht, instead centralising the main control unit in one compartment..
The new approach results in a 40 per cent space reduction compared to a non-centralised system, eliminating local racks from guest cabins, installing only the video screen and speakers and delivering AV over IP. The company also claims a 30 per cent heat reduction, and 25 per cent reduction in energy.
The Key Core Solution is described as an onboard ‘brain’ which can easily be updated. It uses the Videoworks MyInfo 3.0 app to manage multimedia and infotainment channels on all the yacht's Smart TVs. The MyInfo 3.0 app collects all media and information available onboard the yacht so that owners, guests and crew can use them at any time.
There is no need for any additional devices. Every new multimedia experience is integrated directly into the application. Intuitive graphic design makes it easy to choose a playlist on a Smart TV or iPad, review onboard video cameras, control automation systems or browse the internet in perfect security.
The integration of the Key Core Solution with the SAM (Slim Audio Master) system, pictured above, allows one centralised rack to manage the entire audio system directly, with no need to install additional equipment in various spaces on board. The SAM supports local calibration, and native integration of Dante.
