Triad has launched its Designer Series of high-performance in-ceiling speakers. The Control4 company says the line offers integrators an alternative to traditional in-ceilings, with a narrow sound dispersion and prominent speaker grilles, and invisible speakers which, once integrated, can be a challenge to repair or replace.

The DS4-FR is a full-range architectural speaker with a 101mm flush-mount speaker grill which doesn’t compromise aesthetics or interior design; two woofers combine with an Ultra Broad Dispersion (UBD) tweeter that disperses sound through a 150-degree field, claimed to be up to 50 percent wider than conventional speakers. In home theatre environments, they can be partnered with the DS4-SUB, which has three woofers.

“My clients love music and want to be able to listen to it throughout their home. It’s something that has become a staple in most of my building projects. But it’s not always easy to balance the performance requirements of speakers with the design aesthetic my customers expect,” says Rose Barroso of Barroso Homes. “I now have a solution that is low-profile and sleek, but also delivers the music quality that my homeowners expect.”

The Triad Designer Series have a US selling price of $1,400 each.
