Home security specialist Swann has introduced a low cost wireless 1080p security camera that can be used indoors or out, with integrated two ways comms and facial recognition. The details of up to ten people can be stored, able to trigger recording and personalised push notifications. It retails for £150.

The Wire-Free Security Camera has a wide 180 degree viewing angle, and features True Detect heat and motion sensing, as well as infrared night vision that allows users to monitor up to 8m from the camera.

Weatherproof to withstand rain, snow and high temperatures, the camera is IP65 rated. With both a microphone and a speaker, users can have two-way conversations with anyone near the camera. This can be used to communicate with delivery personnel when used outdoors, or hold family conversations inside.

The camera itself is protected by two-factor authentication, with 128-bit encryption of video and data. Free local and cloud storage means footage is saved to a secure cloud, for seven days rolling, and local back-up for two days rolling. Additional storage is available via subscription services.

The device can also be integrated into a wider brand ecosystem, managed with the Swann Security app. Integrators can add more Swann cameras or fully wired DVR or NVR surveillance systems.
