Denon and Polk Audio parent Sound United has appointed Bart Diederik Muller as Senior Vice President of commercial operations Europe. Muller replaces Terry O'Connell, who is retiring as of September 30, 2018 after nearly three decades of developing the Marantz and Denon brands.
Originally hailing from the Netherlands, Muller is charged with maintaining the group’s AV receivers and Hi-Fi and mini-systems, while leading category growth for loudspeakers and soundbars. He is responsible for Denon, Marantz, Polk Audio, Definitive Technology, Classe, Polk BOOM, HEOS, and Boston Acoustics.
Muller reports directly to Kevin Duffy, Chief Executive Officer of Sound United. Europe is Sound United’s second largest market, and has been identified as a key focus over the coming years. He originally served as a general manager for Marantz in the 1990s, before moving on to a variety of companies and positions.
