Sony Professional has announced that its first high-end UHD Blu-ray player for the custom install industry will ship in the UK this summer. Unlike the consumer-facing X800ES model, the UBP-X1000ES offers full Custom Installation compatibility. The X1000ES will arrive with Control4, Crestron and Savant certification, as well as IP Control over CAT 5 cable or Wi-Fi networks, RS232C two-way control and IR-IN. A web browser interface can also used by custom installers for remote maintenance, along with support for cloud-based network management solution Ihiji.Distibution is through Marata Vision.
The UBP-X1000ES Universal Player uses a Sony developed Precision HD drive which is compatible with Ultra HD Blu-ray discs with HDR, DVD and DVD Audio, CD and SA-CD, Blu-ray 3D and BD-ROM media, and supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. It also streams Netflix, Amazon Video and YouTube.
Connections include dual HDMI outputs, plus stereo analogue and coaxial digital outputs. A 32-bit processing DAC is compatible with both native DSD (at up to 11.2 MHz) and LPCM (at up to 192kHz) Hi-Res Music files.
1080p content is upscaled to ‘near 4K’ resolution. It also has an HDR to SDR converter algorithm to maximise images played on SDR 4K TVs.
A Frame and Beam chassis improves structural rigidity; removable rack-mount ears, sold separately, have also been designed to reduce vibration and electrical noise.
“The UBP-X1000ES Blu-ray player was developed to meet the growing demand for a 4K Ultra HD solution that not only provided excellent image quality, but is also a “one stop” solution for a broad range of applications across the home entertainment sphere, in addition to home cinema,” says Thomas Issa, Product Manager for B2B Displays at Sony Professional Solutions Europe. “The new model will meet the needs of even the most demanding AV enthusiasts by delivering excellent video and audio quality.”
