Hero Labs has partnered with OneAV to distribute Sonic, a smart water monitor with integrated shut-off. Sonic uses ultrasonic technology to monitor water usage within a property, detect leaks and shut-off water through an integrated ball valve.
The device uses advanced AI algorithms to understand the water-usage habits of users, tracking the difference between normal water use and leaks. Sonic is fitted directly to the water main (immediately after the stopcock) and can detect even minute flows of water and identify appliances connected to the plumbing network.
To help integrate into wider systems, it features an open API architecture and Control4 SDDP built-in.
OneAV is promising a schedule of dealer training for Sonic, either in-person or via online webinar. Sonic is available for preorder at a discounted price for OneAV’s trade account holders.
“Plumbing issues such as leaks are always a worry in homes, especially during the colder months where pipes are likely to freeze and burst,” Ben Hayes, Residential Sales Executive at OneAV. “To combat this issue, we’re thrilled we can now offer installers Sonic to prevent this from happening to their clients.”
Hamish Neale, commercial director, Hero Labs, adds: “OneAV is a natural and exciting partner for Hero Labs. We are extremely impressed with how OneAV have been able to bring brands like Ring to the CEDIA channel in the UK, providing consistent pricing and support to their dealers. With smart plumbing products being predicted as a Next Big Thing for Smart-Home pros we look forward to working with OneAV and their dealers to bring Sonic and this new product category to market.”
OneAV customers are able to take advantage of a special 15 per cent discount for a limited time by placing a pre-order for Sonic, expected to begin shipping in February.
