Samsung has taken the wraps off its 2019 range of Frame and Serif TVs. The new lifestyle models will make their debut at CES 2019, where they will form part of a lifestyle TV exhibition zone.

Both models target the home interiors market, where their fashionable design sets them apart from the more mainstream competition.

Styled like a painting, The Frame (pictured above) can be used to display digital pieces of artwork, paintings and pictures.

The Serif TV was developed in collaboration with Paris-based design brothers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, specialists in furniture design. The concept has earned multiple design awards, including the 2016 iF Design Award, the 2016 Wallpaper* Design Award and the 2016 Good Design Award in Japan.

This year both The Frame and Serif sets will utilise QLED panels for enhanced dynamics and wider colour volume.

Samsung has also announced that The Frame Art Store, is building its library of digital art offerings, through additional partnerships with galleries and museums. These include the Uffizi Galleries in Italy, the Van Gogh Museum in The Netherlands, Te Papa in New Zealand, and the V&A and Tate Modern in the UK. Around 1,000 pieces of art are available to buy digitally.

The Frame features customisable bezels, the screen comes with a No Gap Wall Mount that helps it sit flush against the wall. A brightness sensor adjusts colours on-screen to fit the ambient brightness of the room.

The Frame will also feature Bixby, Samsung’s AI-powered voice control platform. Users can control the TV and access streaming platforms with voice commands.

The 2019 Serif TV (pictured above) will come with Ambient Mode, which allows the screen to provide information, like news and weather updates, the ability to blend into any living space when the TV is turned off, and display digital images.

Samsung has expanding distribution for the 2019 The Serif TV. The original was sold almost exclusively in furniture shops and department stores, however in 2019 this second iteration will be available through traditional consumer electronics outlets.
