The clean-edged Q8D is the latest addition to Samsung’s European QLED range. The screen will be available in 55-, 65- and 75- screen sizes. Launched earlier in the United States as the Q8F, the model has become a top ten seller in the ultra-large 75-inch category.
Like its Q9FN stablemate, the panel features Full Array Local Dimming and HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG support. It doesn’t quite have the peak brightness of the Q9FN, but it’s still significantly brighter than OLED screens. Q Contrast Plus promises “pristine contrast”, while an anti-reflective screen improves daylight viewing.
Smart functions include a Universal Guide for streaming services and S-Voice control. And like its Q9FN stablemate, the smart set features Ambient Mode, which brings news, weather or design functionality when in Standby.
