Planning a media room? Projecta has introduced a projection screen just for you. The new Parallax 0.8 features an ambient light-rejecting projection fabric technology designed to reject rather than diffuse light. Distribution is through Habitech.

The Projecta Parallax is available for a wide range of fixed aluminium bevelled-edge frame screens in 16:9 and 2.35:1 aspect ratios. The frames sport a black velvet finish.

Parallax screen fabric comprises multiple micro-layers to achieve its ambient light blocking properties. Each micro-layer helps reflect the image back to the viewer. The black layer boosts contrast and absorbs ambient light from the sides, while a special layer, shaped like a microscopic saw-tooth, blocks light from above. This, says the distributor, results in better detail, colour and brightness when used in higher ambient light conditions and at wider viewing angles.

Habitech suggests the Parallax 0.8 is also suitable for boardroom use. Thee fixed-frame line-up includes seven 16:9 screens, from 77- to 120-inches, and seven 2.35:1 models, from 96- to 148-inches
