Procella Audio distributor Invision says it’s “delighted” to see a full 11.4.8 channel Procella loudspeaker system installed in the reference theatre at CEDIA’s new headquarters in Fishers, Indiana.

The 11.4.8 configuration apparently benefits from 30,000 Watts of amplification, so volume shouldn't be a problem. Bi-amplified Procella P815 speakers are used for the L/C/R channels, with P6V speakers for each of the wide and ear-level surround channels.

The new P8iW in-wall/in-ceiling speaker is used for the eight height channels. Four dual 18-inch driver P18 subwoofers provide deep bass, with each of the eight drivers separately calibrated and driven by a dedicated amplifier channel.

Procella’s P8iW speakers are particularly versatile. They can can be used as wide-left or wide-right speakers, as hidden surrounds, or as in-ceiling Atmos/Auro3D speakers. The angled HF waveguide and the square grill shape allow the integrator to simply rotate the P8iW to achieve the desired dispersion angle for each position.

The Reference Cinema Home Theatre was designed and constructed by former CEDIA chairman Dennis Erskine and the Erskine Group. The room has an optimal acoustic environment with a high degree of acoustical isolation to offer a maximum dynamic range and to prevent distracting sound from reaching the office workspaces elsewhere in the building. Dennis Erskine said, ‘We took a leap of faith and decided to use Procella speakers in a very critical home cinema environment. The installation utilized three P815, two P18, three P10 and six P8 speakers. What an amazing surprise. You owe it to yourself and your clients to put these speakers on your very short list. Excellent!’

CEDIA’s new headquarters occupy a 40,000 square foot building in Fishers, Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis. The centrepiece of the HQ is a 3,000 square foot smart-home Experience Centre. This technology showcase is presented in a residential environment format featuring a main room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. Naturally, the best of install technologies are showcased throughout the rooms, among them lighting, two-channel high-end and voice control.
