Panasonic named Consumer Electronics Supplier of the Year at ERT Industry Awards

Retail trade magazine ERT has named Panasonic, the Consumer Electronics Supplier of the Year. The company also won Consumer Electronics Product of the Year for the DX902 4K TV. UK Independent retailers were asked to vote for their preferred suppliers, products and sales reps.

Robert Hughes, managing director of Hughes Electrical, was also awared a Special Achievement award at the prestigious annual industry Awards event in London. Hugheshas been a vociferous advocate of custom installation services.“Everyone needs a second specialty these days,” Hughes told a packed audience of 200 industry professionals.

During the event, Purewell Electrical in Christchurch, Dorset, was named Independent Electrical Retailer of the Year. The company was also awarded Independent Electrical Retailer Website of the Year. D&C Sound and Vision in Disley, Cheshire, was deemed Consumer Electronics Retailer of the Year. Avensys, in Crawley, West Sussex, had Consumer Electronics Showroom of the Year.

BSH was Domestic Appliance Supplier of the Year. LG took Domestic Appliance Product of the Year for its GMJ916NSHV door-in-door fridge freezer.

The event was sponsored by Amdea, Astra, Blomberg, Electrical Safety First, Freeview Play, Magimix, Miele, Panasonic, Retra, Roberts, Smeg, Sony, and techUK. Welcome drinks were sponsored by Yamaha while Samsung sponsored a music quiz.For more on the Awards visit ERT online here.
