Optoma has launched two short throw, and two ultra short throw laser projectors. The short throw ZW310STe and ZX310STe can project a 100-inch picture on a screen or wall from just over a metre, while the ultra short throw ZW300USTe and its interactive stablemate ZW300USTie can beam 100-inch pictures from just 55cm. All bar the ZX310STe are WXGA resolution models; the ZX310STe is an XGA resolution projector.
Their low maintenance laser light source has an expected lifetime of 20,000 hours at full brightness, making them ideal for business, retail and education. Typical use scenarios for the new quartet would include classrooms, meeting spaces and training rooms, where the lack of shadows across images would be valued.
Optoma confirms the new models also support 24/7 operation and versatile orientation, making them suitable for applications such as signage solutions in shop windows or retail displays where space or accessibility can be limited.
All the models are bright enough for use in rooms with high levels of ambient lighting. The ZW310STe is rated at 3600 ANSI lumens, while the remaining models have a light output of 3500 lumens.
All four have an internal 10w audio system. The UST models have a built-in media player, optional wireless and a powered USB port.
All can be managed and monitored easily over a network via the RJ45. Compatible with Crestron RoomView software, IT technicians to monitor and turn off the projectors remotely.
