Optoma has expanded its range of DuraCore laser ProScene projectors with the ZU506 and ZH506, two new high-specification compact models. Offering WUXGA and Full HD 1080p resolution respectively, the duo boast a brightness of 5,000 lumens and flexible installation through zoom, vertical lens shift, four corner adjustment and portrait modes.

Optoma says their laser light engine can deliver 30,000 hours in full brightness mode and continuous 24/7 operation. IP5X certification makes then suitable for demanding of environments, such as schools and colleges, museums and consumer attractions, houses of worship and corporate AV.

Installation aids include vertical lens shift and 1.6x zoom. Four corner geometric adjustment is included for uneven walls, or where a projector needs to be installed at an angle. They also sport integrated 10W stereo speakers.

Once installed, these large venue projectors can be managed and monitored over a network via the RJ45. Compatible Crestron RoomView software can be used to power on/off, monitor, manage and control up to 250 projectors at the same time from any computer.

“Optoma’s new 506 series offers an affordable laser solution for customers who might otherwise be looking at high brightness lamp-based projectors,” says Philip Watt, Commercial Product Manager at Optoma Europe. “Taking proven technologies from our Pro AV range, they offer DuraCore laser in a small, virtually maintenance free product.”
