Onkyo intros mid-price TX-NR676E Chromecast Dolby Atmos 4K HDR AV receiver

Onkyo has announced the 7.2-Channel TX-NR676E network AV receiver. Rated at 160W per channel, the aggressively specified amp offers support for HDMI HDCP 2.2 sources and is multiroom audio compatible with Onkyo FireConnect wireless speakers.

The TX-NR676E features six rear HDCP 2.2-compliant HDMI inputs, along with a front HDMI input and two HDMI outputs. There’s also a phono input, three digital audio inputs (two optical/one coaxial), and six analogue audio inputs.

The AVR offers dual-band Wi-Fi, built in Bluetooth and Apple AirPlay. The AVR also has Chromecast built-in, and supports DTS Play-Fi casting from supported apps and devices. Audio can also be shared to speakers in another room via powered zone 2 speaker outputs

The TX-NR676E supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, using AccuReflex to align the phase of directional and non-directional speakers. Beneath the hood is a 32-bit DSP chipset and 384 kHz/32-bit DAC. High-Res audio compatibility includes DSD 5.6 MHz/2.8 MHz and 192 kHz/24-bit WAV, FLAC, AIFF, and ALAC.

The TX-NR676E will go on sale in May, priced at £599.
