Node Audio has announced the Signature Edition of its high-end Hylixa loudspeakers.
The original Hylixa. launched in 2018, was hailed as the world’s first ‘Helical Bass’ loudspeaker, made possible using advanced laser-based 3D printing. The result was profound bass extension and imaging.
The new Hylixa Signature builds on its predecessor, and is distinguished by an all-new base design, featuring a heavyweight disc machined from a solid billet of Stainless Steel.
As well as endless cabinet paint options and precious metal fascia plating, this new base is available as bright stainless steel or chemically blackened, so prospective owners can create a truly unique aesthetic to complement their homes.
This new base helps reduce unwanted vibrational energy, and provides an aesthetic which is more compatible with different interior styles. The single central pillar of the legacy model remains, but has been re-engineered for improved acoustic transparency. Extruded aluminium has been replaced by a single laser-fused pillar component, from the same dynamically inert glass-nylon material as the head of the speaker. The increased internal space for an upgraded crossover, has eliminated the proximity of metal components which can degrade the signal.
The new crossover has upgraded Mundorf capacitors, with Duelund internal wiring throughout. The result, says the company, iis a greater dynamic expression, realism and natural tone.
Node’s Director Ashley May said: “Our Hylixa speakers embrace laser-based 3D printing to deliver a product where acoustics and aesthetics converge. However, as innovators and engineers we are constantly pursuing improvements in every area. Hylixa Signature is the culmination of several advancements to deliver a better product.”
The new Signature edition will replace the legacy model at launch. Prices start from £30,000. More at node-audio.com
